The 2022 vintage in Coonawarra delivered both quality and quantity, with all red varieties showing impressive colour and depth.

This wine was crafted from hand-selected parcels of fruit sourced from our original 1975 plantings. It spent 12 months maturing in oak, including 15% new French oak, which added balance and structure without overpowering the fruit. The result is a wine with soft tannins, vibrant fruit, and a juicy, expressive palate.

It's a standout example of what careful vineyard management, skilled wine making, and exceptional Coonawarra terroir can produce.

Colour: Bright crimson

Nose: Iris, white pepper and spices

Palate: Displays distinct cool climate characteristics, with a plush juicy light pepper palate. With well-integrated oak this wine will reward for years to come.

Food Pairing: Cured meats such as prosciutto and salami for a nice sweet and salty combo.

94 points Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot, Aug 2025.

"A far more traditional style of Shiraz here, the colour is a blood red/maroon. On the nose, we have attractive notes of chocolate, coffee beans, blackberries, plums and licorice. There is some complexity already evident and we can expect that to build in the coming years. The wine has focus and drive, is well balanced, and there is vibrant acidity as well. An intriguing and impressive style with lots to like, there is very good length here. Enjoy this over the next eight to twelve years. Top notch."

92 points Sam Kim, WineOrbit, Sept 2025.

"This is immediately appealing on the nose, with aromas of blackberry, rich floral notes, star anise, and roasted nuts. The palate is equally appealing with excellent weight, backed by fleshy texture and silky tannins, making it flavoursome and fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2032."

90 points James Suckling, Sept 2025.

"This opens up with aromas of red cherries as well as tile mingled with milk chocolate. Medium- to full-bodied with succulent rich fruit, a grainy tannin frame and a broad, juicy finish. Drink or hold."
