The 2021 Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon is a masterful expression of two iconic Coonawarra and Wrattonbully estate vineyards, united to create a classic Australian blend.

From Wrattonbully, juicy, spicy Shiraz brings vibrancy and depth, while Coonawarra contributes classic Cabernet Sauvignon notes of mixed berries, eucalypt, and fine, structured tannins. Careful handling in the winery and maturation in seasoned French oak have enhanced complexity, texture, and silky integration, producing a wine of luscious colour, defined varietal character, and supple elegance.

A product of a mild, stable 2021 vintage, with small, thick-skinned berries and steady ripening, the Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon is a harmonious balance of bold fruit intensity, refined tannins, and enduring appeal.

Colour: Bright crimson red with deep purple hues

Nose: Succulent red fruits with dark plums and a hint of eucalypt

Palate: Plum, spice and blackcurrants

Food Pairing: Try it with slow roasted pork shoulder

"It might sound like a broken record, but do not miss any opportunity to stock your cellar with good wines from the 2021 vintage, from a range of South Australian regions, including this blend from Wrattonbully and Coonawarra. Your chances of doing so are diminishing. Even more so, do not miss the opportunity to do so when the wine is such good value. The Shiraz is from both regions while the Cabernet hails from just Coonawarra.
Deep maroon in colour, the nose offers notes of warm earth, coffee grinds, cocoa powder, dried herbs, leather and blackcurrants. Seamless in structure, there is very good length here, with intensity maintained for the full journey. Sleek tannins and fine acidity, the wine has excellent length and remains well balanced at all times. The team suggest early drinking, and there is no doubt that it will prove most enjoyable for those who do so, but well cellared, it can surely be enjoyed over the next ten to twelve years. It really is superb value."

"It's sweetly ripe and fragrant on the nose with aromas of dark plum, raspberry, dried herb, and nutmeg. The palate displays juicy fruit intensity with a supple mouthfeel, well supported by silky texture and polished tannins, finishing lingering and succulent. At its best: now to 2029."
