The 2024 to 2025 growing season began with average temperatures and generous early spring rainfall. Yields held steady despite a September frost, and above average rain in November supported healthy canopy growth and berry size. A dry, mild stretch from December through harvest then delivered clean, balanced fruit with natural vibrancy.

Very pale with subtle green tints, it opens with lifted aromas of lemon and citrus blossom. The palate is medium bodied and lively, showing flavours of citrus and green apple, beautifully shaped by Picpoul’s naturally high acidity. The finish is crisp, clean, and refreshingly moreish.

The fruit was harvested early in the morning at 12 Baumé once green apple and lime flavours were evident, then delivered to the winery within 30 minutes. Only the free run juice was used, gently pressed and fermented cool in stainless steel at 14 °C with aromatic yeasts to preserve fragrance and drive. The aim throughout was a wine that is fresh, vibrant, and true to variety.

A perfect match for the table, it pairs beautifully with Creole crab baked oysters, or is just as enjoyable served on its own when you want something bright, zesty, and uncomplicated. Best enjoyed young while its citrus lift and energy are at their peak.

"Another exciting example of the Picpoul grape, transported from its home in France to the Central Ranges. It has clearly taken to its new surrounds.
Shimmering pale yellow in hue, on the nose we have an array of aromas including ripe stonefruit, apricot kernels, spices, almonds, sea breeze notes and a hint of beeswax. The wine is balanced, supple and exhibiting very good length with a fine line of acidity. Really impressive, this will drink beautifully over the next two to four years. "
