From the cool-climate Frankland River region, this Shiraz reflects the season’s perfect balance of rainfall and sunshine, producing wines of elegance, freshness and intensity. Crafted from estate-grown Blocks 8 and 9, along with select parcels from Block 3 and another Great Southern site, the fruit was carefully destemmed with some whole berries retained, cold-soaked, and fermented with gentle plunging and pumping.

Aromas of blackberry, spiced plum, dark chocolate and subtle savoury notes lead to a refined palate, with elegant tannins and bright red currant acidity carrying through to a long, savoury finish. Matured for nine months in older barriques, hogsheads and puncheons, this Shiraz is perfect with a butterflied leg of lamb charred with garlic and rosemary on the barbecue.

A refined Shiraz with intense fruit and a long, savoury finish.

Colour: Brilliant deep purple with a lighter violet hue.

Nose: Delicate aromas of blackberry, spiced plum, dark chocolate, and savoury notes.

Palate: Elegant tannins and a red currant acidity ensure a long, savoury finish.

Food Pairing: Butterflied leg of lamb flavoured with garlic and rosemary charred on the barbecue

92 Points Winepilot "A range of parcels of top notch Shiraz from the Frankland River/Great Southern are fermented discretely, with the inclusion of whole berries. Maturation is for nine months in older barriques, hogsheads and puncheons. Deep maroon/magenta hue here, there are an array of intriguing aromas including dry herbs, cold tea, mushrooms, cocoa powder, dry forests and black fruits. A soft and supple texture, there is good intensity here for the full length of the wine. Herbal notes to the fore on the palate, there is some early complexity emerging. With a very persistent finis, enjoy this for six to twelve years."

91 Points Sam Kim Wine Orbit "It's attractively fruited and nicely lifted on the nose with dark plum, sweet cherry, tar, cured meat and almond notes, followed by a succulent palate offering plump mouthfeel backed by finely integrated tannins."
