Set in the famed Watervale subregion of South Australia’s Clare Valley, this Semillon draws on a vintage defined by generous winter rains and a classic La Niña-influenced growing season. Full soil moisture at budburst, a cooler wetter spring, and healthy canopy growth laid a strong foundation, while a calm, unusually dry flowering period delivered excellent fruit set and an above-average crop. The season finished with timely summer rainfall supporting veraison, followed by a dry, settled harvest window—ideal conditions for preserving Semillon’s signature freshness and vibrancy.

Pale straw yellow with a slight green hue, the wine opens with attractive aromatics of white florals and lemon, lifted by subtle savoury French oak notes. The palate is bright yet layered, showing lemongrass, quince, citrus, and gentle tropical hints, with a fine lemon-pith texture adding shape and weight. Discreet oak spice and a touch of creamy breadth sit neatly alongside the lively acidity, bringing balance, length, and a clean, refreshing finish.

To capture purity and delicacy, the fruit was machine-harvested and gently pressed to minimise colour pickup, then fermented cool in stainless steel with neutral yeast. Stabilised, filtered, and bottled young, it retains its vivid fruit characters and crisp regional line.

A natural partner for food, this Semillon pairs beautifully with Asian-inspired dishes, or a cheese platter with dried fruits such as pear, peach, and apricot, where its citrus lift and subtle texture complement both spice and richness. Enjoy young for brightness, or cellar 8–10 years for added complexity.
