Renaissance De Ciceron | Pays D'oc, Rosé De Syrah - A Timeless Craft of Modern Rosé

Tucked away in the sunlit hills south east of Carcassonne, ChĂąteau CicĂ©ron is a vineyard of remarkable character, where history, landscape, and progressive winemaking come together in quiet harmony. Facing south over the Orbieu River and sheltered by the Montagne d’Alaric, the estate enjoys a privileged position shaped by Mediterranean influence, bringing both freshness and elegance to its wines.

Rooted in centuries of history, the chñteau stands on the site of an ancient Roman villa dating back to 70 BC, later becoming part of the Benedictine Abbey of Lagrasse before passing into private hands after the French Revolution. This deep sense of heritage is matched by a forward thinking philosophy. In 1985, under the guidance of Claude Vialade, the estate began its transition to organic farming, long before it became widely embraced, ultimately becoming part of Europe’s first fully organic co operative winery.

Tasting by Julian Todd

Delicate in hue and effortlessly refined, this Syrah rosé opens with lifted aromas of wild strawberries, white peach, and a hint of rose petal, gently layered with citrus zest. On the palate, it is crisp and beautifully poised, revealing notes of red berries, pink grapefruit, and subtle herbal nuances that reflect its Mediterranean origins.

A fine line of acidity brings freshness and precision, while a soft, rounded texture adds elegance and balance. The finish is clean, dry, and quietly persistent, leaving a refreshing impression that invites another sip.

Perfectly suited to warm afternoons and relaxed entertaining, this rosé pairs beautifully with fresh seafood, light salads, and soft cheeses, capturing the essence of southern France in every glass.
