Salmon-pink Rosé from some of the Barossa’s oldest vineyards.
With roots that stretch back to the Barossa’s earliest days, this wine comes from a family that is custodian of some of the region’s oldest vines. This Rosé is a perfect expression of that heritage, crafted by a family deeply connected to the land. The fruit for this blend of Grenache, Mataro, Cinsault and Riesling was picked early, specifically for Rosé, and gently pressed to preserve its bright fruit character and lively acidity.
The result is a vibrant salmon coloured wine that is elegant, complex, and dangerously moreish – a true testament to the winery’s legacy and perfect for pairing with anything, everything or simply enjoyed on its own.
A beautifully vibrant Rosé filled with texture and fresh fruit.
Colour: Vibrant salmon pink.
Nose: Lovely lifted nose of chamomile tea, small red fruits, a hint of fairy floss and red apples.
Palate: Crisp and lively with a balance of strawberries, raspberry coulis, red apples, and a savoury, lees-driven texture. The finish is long and finely shaped, leaving lingering notes of red apple skins and strawberry shortcake.
Food pairing: Perfect with anything, everything, or nothing.
93 points Sam Kim, WineOrbit, Sept 2022."Charming and immediately appealing with nectarine, lemon zest and a hint of strawberry aromas, it's succulent on the palate offering fleshy texture and refreshing acidity, offering fabulous drinking. At its best: now to 2024."
92 points Ken Gargett, Winepilot, Feb 2024."This exciting Barossa Rosé is an intriguing blend of Grenache (59%), Mataro (23%), Cinsault (15%) and Riesling (3%). The grapes were pressed and co fermented in stainless steel, with minimal skin contact. Lees stirring took place twice a week for two months, before racking. The small portion of Riesling was wild fermented on skins before pressing to older oak to finalise fermentation. Once dry, it was blended to the final wine, with the intention of adding textural and aromatic complexity.
The colour is reminiscent of a lovely orange/pink sunset. Generous aromatics and perfumes flood from the glass. Gentle red fruits, hints of wild strawberries, florals and even a touch of stonefruit. Clean, fresh and linear, it also shows bright acidity and excellent length. Delicious and refreshing now, this wine would sit well in the cellar for four to six years, although, personally, I’d opt for the exuberance of youth."
