A bold, full-bodied Shiraz from a highly-acclaimed Clare Valley winemaker.
This Shiraz is a tribute to the Clare Valley’s long history of producing full-bodied, spicy Shiraz. Crafted by a well known winemaker who was named Clare Valley’s Winemaker of the Year, this wine showcases the legacy of his critically acclaimed winemaking. The winery, nestled in the Skilly Valley, follows a philosophy of minimal intervention, allowing each wine to reflect the unique microclimates and terroir of the Clare Valley.
This wine is an homage to a time when local growers partnered with the Stanley Wine Company, working in shared vineyards that once flourished across the region. This Shiraz captures the essence of this heritage. Aged in seasoned French oak for 15 months, it offers complexity and elegance, with the potential to cellar for up to 10 years.
A full-bodied Shiraz with rich dark chocolate, plum, and fine tannins.
Colour: Brick red with crimson hues.
Nose: Lifted aromas of plums, red fruits, subtle French oak chariness, and dark chocolate.
Palate: Flavours of dark chocolate, olive tapenade, and riper plums, with fine-grained tannins and a long, smooth finish.
Food Pairing: Pair with peppercorn roast beef and horseradish cream for an unforgettable meal. Enjoy now or cellar for up to 10 years for
added complexity
93 points Sam Kim, WineOrbit, Dec 2023.
"This is immediately appealing on the nose, showing dark fruit intensity, thyme, clove and toasted nut aromas. The palate delivers terrific fruit richness combined with plump mouthfeel and silky tannins, finishing lingering and satisfying. At its best: now to 2036."
92 points Ken Gargett, Winepilot, Jan 2024. "A seriously impressive Clare Valley Shiraz, this is dark maroon in colour, with notes of plums, chocolate, blackfruits, soy, mocha and licorice. More sweet chocolate notes continue to emerge on the palate supported by fine acidity, soft tannins, good length and a lingering finish. Now for six years."
