This 2023 Tempranillo from Ferguson Valley in Western Australia is a vibrant and fruit-forward expression of the variety, showcasing both freshness and approachability. In the glass, it displays a deep, vibrant purple hue, hinting at its youthful energy.

On the nose, lifted aromas of dark cherries and ripe plums are complemented by subtle notes of baking spices, adding warmth and complexity. The palate is juicy and generous, led by flavours of ripe dark cherries, strawberries, and red plums, creating a well-balanced and easy-drinking style.

Crafted with care, the wine was fermented in open fermenters for five days before being pressed to tank. It then underwent malolactic fermentation and was matured in seasoned oak, enhancing texture while allowing the bright fruit character to shine.

Versatile at the table, this Tempranillo pairs beautifully with tomato-based dishes such as lasagne, pizza, and spaghetti bolognese, making it an excellent choice for relaxed dining and shared meals.

Colour: Vibrant purple.

Nose: Lifted aromas of dark cherries and plums, with a hint of baking spices.

Palate: Juicy flavours of ripe dark cherries, strawberries and red plums dominate the palate.

Food Pairing: Tempranillo is a great match for foods with a tomato based sauce, think lasagne, pizza and spaghetti bolognese.

95 Points | Russ Gallagher, Vino Masters

"Bright crimson-red with youthful vibrancy. Aromas of red cherry, raspberry and dark plum are layered with gentle spice and savoury undertones. The palate is medium to full-bodied with juicy red fruits framed by fine tannins and balanced acidity. It’s very racy! Grenache brings lift and freshness, Shiraz adds depth, while Tempranillo contributes cherry ripe nuance and structure. Harmonious, modern, approachable and intriguing spices. Well done!"

94 Points | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"This is splendidly expressed on the nose, showing dark berry, thyme, star anise, game, and toasted almond aromas. The palate delivers succulent fruit flavours with excellent weight backed by silky texture and grainy tannins. Beautifully harmonious and wonderfully structured with a persistent flavoursome finish. At its best: now to 2034."

"An attractive red blend from the Ferguson Valley in Western Australia, it comes from the estate’s vineyards. Maturation was in oak barriques before the three individual parcels were blended, before bottling.
A vibrant purple colour with a crimson rim, the nose exhibits notes of plums, cassis, smoked meats, florals, black cherries and mulberries. It is a real spice bomb. The wine has excellent focus and direction with impressive length. Delicious now and will continue to be at least the next six years. Love it. "
