93-point Shiraz from a family winery with five generations of local history.
Nestled in the picturesque Frankland River region of Western Australia, this winery builds on five generations of the family’s agricultural heritage. Their 2021 Shiraz is a testament to the unique terroir of the region, where red jarrah gravel loam soils and cool climate conditions yield wines of exceptional intensity. This Shiraz reflects the care and precision passed down through the generations, combining the best fruit from estate-grown blocks with select parcels from other Great Southern sites.
Matured for nine months in older barriques, hogsheads and puncheons, this Shiraz is both complex and approachable, perfect for pairing with a butterflied leg of lamb charred on the barbeque. With cellaring potential of 3-5 years, this is a wine that can be savoured or allowed to develop further in the bottle.
A refined Shiraz with intense fruit and a long, savoury finish.
Colour: Brilliant deep purple with a lighter violet hue.
Nose: Delicate aromas of blackberry, spiced plum, dark chocolate and savoury notes.
Palate: Elegant tannins, balanced by red currant acidity, lead to a long, savoury finish.
Food Pairing: Ideal with butterflied leg of lamb flavoured with garlic and rosemary, charred on the barbeque. Drink now or cellar for 3-5 years for added complexity.
93 points Sam Kim, WineOrbit, Dec 2022.
"Sweetly fruited and inviting on the nose with spiced cherry, plum, subtle vanilla and assorted nut aromas, it's plump and rounded in the mouth offering ripe fruit intensity with smooth mouthfeel. Silky and lingering with tasty flavours. At its best: now to 2030."
